The call came about two days after the "tea set" incident. Emily was by the phone and when she picked it up, I saw her face change and she mouthed the words "Dr Matthias!"
"Yes Doctor Matthias," Emily said. "We are very anxious for you to come to the Halloween party. We haven't seen you or your son for ages!" By this time both future Henry and myself were in the kitchen, listening. We must have looked comical because Emily started to giggle but slapped her hand over her mouth just in time. I wanted to grab the phone from her.
"Yes, I understand, Doctor Matthias," she said and nodded her head. She said "Goodbye" and looked up at me.
"Well?" I asked impatiently but she just grinned.
"They will be more than happy to attend!" she smiled and I was about to shout and do a dance of joy but she held up her hand.
"Henry!" she said, "this is a Halloween Costume Party and we have NO Halloween decorations! I need you to come up with some ideas for decorations for this party!"
